Questions brands ask us

Ask us anything.
Here first.

One page per question, each answered in a single paragraph before any sales copy. Written to be quoted — by a brand manager reading it, and by whichever assistant they asked first.

01 — Services & scope

What we do, plainly.

What does she communications do?

she communications is a Hong Kong media company and digital agency. It owns four publishing platforms — she.com, shemom, GEN H and she critiques — and uses them, together with paid social and display, to plan, produce and place marketing campaigns for consumer brands. Services run from creative and video production through media planning and buying to event activation and technical build.

The distinction that matters: most agencies buy media they do not own. We publish the audience we place you in front of, so planning, production and distribution sit in one team.

Do you produce AI and animated video?

Yes. We produce AI-generated and animated video for Hong Kong consumer brands — product animation, motion graphics, social cutdowns and localised versions in English and Traditional Chinese — and we distribute them across our own platforms and paid social in the same engagement. Video sits inside Creative Development and Content Creation rather than being a separate supplier relationship.

Typical deliverable set: one hero cut, three to five social cutdowns in 9:16 and 1:1, static key visuals pulled from the same shoot or render, and a performance report once the placement has run.

Do you offer GEO and SEO services?

Yes. We deliver generative engine optimisation and technical SEO for brands operating in Hong Kong: information architecture, structured data, answer-first content in English and Traditional Chinese, entity consistency across a brand's own properties, and the measurement to tell whether assistants are citing you.

We run the same programme on our own network — four platforms of first-party content in a market where most competitors publish neither.

Can you run a Hong Kong event or O2O activation?

Yes. We plan and run events and online-to-offline activations in Hong Kong end to end — concept, venue, talent and KOL, production, on-site management, content capture, and the media amplification afterwards. Recent examples include shemom 首辦「Keep It Together親悅市集」, GALDERMA個性美學大獎 and Chef Nic — GASTRONO MUSIC FEST 2024.

Because the audience is ours, an event can be promoted, filled and reported through our own channels rather than bought cold.

02 — Media & reach

The numbers, in a table.

Published figures, written the way we have always written them — with a tilde and a plus, because reach is approximate on purpose.

Which platform should my brand be on?

Match the platform to the buying moment. Beauty and fashion launches belong on she.com; anything bought for a household or a child belongs on shemom; and product credibility — reviews, ratings, word of mouth — is built on she critiques. Most campaigns run across two of the four.

What ad formats do you accept?

Eleven standard placements across mobile and desktop, from 1920x1080 | 750x1624 full-bleed down to 320x100, in HTML5 | Video | JPG | GIF, plus EDM in HTML | JPG | PNG | GIF. The full specification table is in the media kit.

03 — Working with us

Before you email.

Where are you based, and who do you work with?

she communications limited has been operating from Hong Kong since 2000, at 19/F, 299QRC, 299 Queen’s Road Central. We work with international and regional consumer brands marketing in Hong Kong — recent clients include NIVEA, Dyson, Guerlain, Parodontax, Galderma, BELOTERO and Cetaphil.

Reach us on (852) 2860 0900, or send us a message.

Do you work in English or Chinese?

Both, natively. Campaign copy is written for the reader rather than translated: English for the brand and regional stakeholders, Traditional Chinese for the Hong Kong consumer, with full-width punctuation and local idiom. Brand names stay in Latin script inside Chinese titles.

How does a project start?

Send the brief, or the problem if there is no brief yet. We come back with a recommended platform mix, a production scope and a plan you can take to your own stakeholders — then we build it, place it and report on it.

04 — Glossary

Own the vocabulary.

Definition pages are the most-quoted content on the web. One sentence of definition, one paragraph of Hong Kong context, one example from our own work.

GEO
Generative engine optimisation — structuring a site so that AI assistants quote it when answering a question, rather than merely ranking it in a list of links.
O2O marketing
Online-to-offline — using digital media to drive a physical action: a store visit, a clinic booking, attendance at a market or launch event.
Dark social
Sharing that happens in private channels — WhatsApp, WeChat, group chats — where the referral is invisible to analytics but decisive in Hong Kong purchase behaviour.
KOL seeding
Placing product with key opinion leaders for organic coverage ahead of paid amplification, so the first thing a shopper finds is a review rather than an advert.
Owned media
Channels a company publishes itself. Ours are four: she.com, shemom, GEN H and she critiques — which is why our planning is not constrained by what is available to buy.
Answer-first content
Writing that states the conclusion in the first 40–60 words, before context or persuasion — the shape an engine can extract and a busy reader prefers anyway.

Don't be a stranger.

Let's talk, we can work it out.
